Project Name: Greggs Newcastle
Project Manager: Nathan Lawley

Flue HQ were selected for the design, supply, installation and roof works for the flue system at Greggs manufacturing facility in Newcastle.
This Newley extended freezer will be able to hold a staggering one million pasties and is part of their plans to grow further by investing in its manufacturing and distribution operations.
The flue systems installed serve 1No. FG Wilson P1500P3 Generator.
The generator required 2.No systems and 2.No bespoke rigid flanged sections between the generator and silencer unit. A horizontal terminal with anti bird nesting mesh was also installed 1.5m above roof level.

The product range selected for this application was our AD, Twin Wall Insulated Flue Pipe, this product range is constructed from an inner wall of 0.5mm grade AISI 316L Stainless Steel and a 0.5mm grade 304 external wall. The 25mm void is packed with 128kg/m high density rockwool insulation. The joints are push-fit complete with a tri-lip inner silicone ring for a condensing application.
Our AD product gives a positive pressure resistance of up to 5000Pa and a continuous high temperature capability of up to 600° at 5000 pascals independently tested to BS476: Part 24 for 4 Hours.

We completed this project within budget but as the snow came down heavily we had to postpone works on the roof, as hard as our engineers tried they were unable to cut the holes in the roof while it was so wet. As soon as the snow cleared they got straight back to site to finish the works.
This is a second project for a new client who we have thoroughly enjoyed working with and we look forward to any/ all new projects with them in the future.
