Flue HQ Limited - Commercial Flue Solutions
We follow strict processes to ensure we get it right first time, every time. Perfection is key, so when it comes to contracting we live by the following expression, 'Measure Twice and Cut Once'.
Flue HQ offer a wide variety of exhaust solutions that will be certain to meet all requirements and budgets. Our flue systems are CE marked and comply to all British standards and regulations within the U.K. Our engineers and clients benefit from the latest design packages that we use to generate comprehensive diameter and flow calculations on demand.
Our twin wall, pre fabricated flue ranges in diameters from 80mm - 600mm (inside diameter). The appropriate diameter for your application will be selected by our technical engineer when putting together our proposal. Our twin wall flue comes with 30mm of rockwool insulation. The insulation area between the inner and outer walls can be increased depending upon application, generally for CHP and Generator systems this will be increased to 50mm, 75mm, or 100mm to reduce the chance of cooling flue gases.
See our contracting process below:
01
INITIAL DIAMETER CALCULATIONS AND 3D PROPOSED LAYOUT
The client will submit their proposed routes, elevations and appliance details to one of our estimators who will immediately log it on our system under one of our FHQ project numbers. We will run initial calculations based on the information that the client has submitted and generate one of our budget quotations which will be subject to a stage 2 site survey.
We usually provide a 3D layout free of charge with our quotations to show you the route that we have quoted.
02
ON-SITE PRACTICALITY STUDY, RISK ASSESSMENT AND MEASUREMENT TAKING
An experienced engineer will attend site to ensure the practicality of the project and advise on any regulations, input air into the plant room, termination requirements and general works to be completed prior to our engineers attending site. Whilst we are there we will conduct our risk assessment and take all measurements required to produce our Stage 3 CAD Drawings and RAMS.
03
3D/2D CAD DRAWING, DIAMETER CALCULATIONS AND RAMS SUBMITTED FOR APPROVAL
From the information obtained from our practicality study and on site assessment we will generate 3D CAD drawings, our Risk Assessments and Method Statements and Diameter Calculations that we will issue to the client, and to our installation engineers as a guide to their installation.
All of the documents will need to be approved by the client/project engineer prior to our engineers attending site inline with our Stage 4 process.
04
MATERIALS DELIVERED TO SITE, INSTALLATION ENGINEERS DEPLOYED
Once approval has been granted by the client, we will get to work perfecting our materials list from the drawing already provided. An installation date will be agreed upon inline with the client's programme of works. Our project managers will closely monitor the progress of our on site engineers and will receive daily reports of progress and issues, should they arise.
05
SNAGGING, TESTING, CERTIFICATE OF CONFORMITY AND PROJECT SIGN OFF SHEET
Upon completion of the project, the system will be smoke tested and/or pressure tested dependant upon the clients requirements. The client and main contractor will be asked for their approval and a CoC and/or project sign off sheet will be issued outlining our 10 year product warranty.
